September is Suicide Awareness Month and the West Custer County Library staff is once again asking the community to help shine a light on suicide with a Library “art walk” from September 1st through the 30th. Suicide is one of the top ten leading causes of death in Colorado. Let’s show our support for Suicide Awareness and make the “art walk” a huge success. Residents can contribute art for display, and or visit the Library in September to “walk the art.” We are asking Custer County residents of any age to drop off artwork at the Library beginning Tuesday, August 29th through Friday, September 15th. Art should be no larger than 8” by 11”, and can be any medium, for example photos, drawings, paintings, pottery, collages, poems, etc. The art will be displayed anonymously throughout the month of September and be returned the first week of October.
