The first plant identification excursion to the Nuche Forest Reserve will take place Saturday, July 6th.
In March Claudia Morris gathered a group of people through the West Custer County Library to learn about Native Heritage and Medicinal Plants. Claudia is now inviting anyone who is interested from the class and in general to join her for a medicinal plant identification walk. Claudia says, “the plants are growing and it is exciting to seek them out and harvest what we can!”
This is an easy walk to introduce participants to identifying medicinal and edible plants. Participants will not be walking far or high, just an easy walk through the forest. Wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes and bring a light jacket and water.
