Local Parks and Wildlife Officer Justin Krall will lead a free Ice Fishing Workshop on Tuesday, February, 21st at the All Aboard Facility at 110 Rosita Ave., Westcliffe at 10 a.m.  The event will begin with classroom training from 10 a.m. till noon. The class will cover an introduction to ice fishing, including safety tips, techniques, and equipment.  There will be a break for lunch at noon, the class will reconvene at 1 p.m. at the boat ramp on the north side of the Lake Deweese with access from County Road 220 for a hands on Ice Fishing experience.  Justin recommends folks dress for cold weather.  No ice fishing experience is necessary; Krall will provide the necessary equipment.  RSVP to (719) 783-9138 or register at www.westcusterlibrary.org.

Following lunch at noon the class will reconvene at 1 p.m. at Lake Deweese at the boat ramp on the north side of the Lake with access from County Road 220.  Take Hwy 69 north from Westcliffe.  Turn right onto CR 215, then turn right/east onto 220 for several miles toward the dam where they will turn right toward the lake and go to the concrete boat ramp and vault restroom for a hands on Ice Fishing experience.
