The Children’s Summer Reading Program is for ages 0-10 years. The reading challenge is split into two groups. The Explorer’s group is designed for ages 0-6 and has a lot of activities that parents can do with their children, it’s for pre-readers and beginning readers. The Adventurer’s group is designed for ages 7-10 and is for children who are able to read on their own quite a bit or even all the time. The children’s events are geared for ages 4-10 years, but older siblings are welcome.

Teen Volunteers Needed!

The library’s Children’s Summer Reading Program would not be possible without the help of our fantastic teen volunteers. New and returning volunteers are greatly appreciated.

Teens interested in volunteering to work with kids at the library’s Children’s Summer Reading Program events either as an intern, or for just one or a few events, should contact Youth Services Librarian, Jessica Carter, at 719-783-9138 ext. 4 or jessica@westcusterlibrary.org. Info on the dates and event descriptions are below.

A very special thank you to the Friends of the Library for providing all of the funding for the Summer Reading Program and its events.
