Local geologist Jay Temple, will lead a one-hour hike in Temple Canyon’s B. F. Rockafellow Ecology Park in Cañon City.  Jay will lead the hike through outcroppings, and give a talk on the geologic history of the area. Interested hikers please register for the walk. The hike encompasses terrain that may be considered challenging and it is recommended that adults and teens be conditioned hikers (hike at your own risk). Please come prepared with sturdy shoes, plenty of water, and appropriate sun protection. The group will meet up at the B. F. Rockafellow Ecology Park Trailhead at 9 a.m. There are no available restrooms at the trailhead. Participants are encouraged to pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic following the hike.

Directions to the Trailhead from 209 Main St. The West Custer County Library

1) Head east toward 3rd St
2) Turn left at the 1st cross street onto CO-69 N/3rd St
4) Turn right onto US-50 E for 25.2 mi
5) Turn right onto S 1st St go 1.1 mi
6) Turn right onto Temple Canyon Rd go .7 mi

7) Destination will be on the right
